Manage Gizmo watches with the Family app FAQs

Yes, the GizmoHub app is retiring. Download the Verizon Family app in Google Play™ or the Apple® App Store® at no extra cost as soon as possible to maintain your Gizmo Watch. The Verizon Family app provides a single, convenient location to manage your family's digital experience and certain devices.

Before you begin:

• Don't restart or reset your Gizmo Watch during the migration to Verizon Family. Selecting Delete Gizmo resets the watch. This action permanently removes all settings, data and any photos in the photo gallery.
• The primary account Guardian for the Gizmo account must download and set up the Verizon Family app before any Caregivers migrate their accounts.

Transfer your Gizmo account by following these steps:

1. Download the Verizon Family app from your mobile device's app store.
2. Open the Verizon Family app.
3. Sign in using your existing Verizon mobile account credentials.
   1. Non-Verizon Customers: Sign in using the same Apple ID or Google Account credentials you used for the GizmoHub app.
   2. Single line, Business or Government customers: You may continue using your current Apple or Google account credentials to log in.
4. Follow the onscreen prompts to transfer your Gizmo Watch settings, profiles and contacts.
   1. Use your mobile number, not the Gizmo Watch number, to register.
   2. Let your trusted contacts and GizmoHub Caregivers know they must download the Verizon Family app, as well.

Verizon is transitioning GizmoHub users to the Verizon Family app. We are retiring the GizmoHub app later this year, and all features now live in the Verizon Family app. Find answers to your questions about this transition on this page. GizmoHub is a smartphone app that lets you call, locate and manage Gizmo watches. With the app, you can:

• Speak with your child – The Gizmo watch allows for two-way communication, so you and your child can call each other.
• Video chat with your child – Video call with your child's Gizmo Watch 3 or Verizon GizmoWatch Disney Edition for up to 3 minutes for a quick catch-up.
• Locate your child – Check the location of your child's Gizmo watch with one tap.
  • Schedule a time for the Gizmo watch to automatically update its location.
  • Set GPS boundaries and get notified if the Gizmo watch enters or leaves the area.
• Add contacts – Invite Gizmo Buddies, Caregivers and other Guardians so they can call and get calls from the Gizmo watch.
  • The Gizmo Buddy feature allows calling and texting between Gizmo Watches.
• Send messages – Send short text messages to your child's Gizmo watch.
• Create group chats - Guardians can create a chat group to allow group texting between all Guardians' smartphones and a child's Gizmo watch.
• Manage your child's Gizmo – You can use the GizmoHub app to change settings on the Gizmo watch (e.g., volume, ringtones, fun sounds, etc.).
• Keep your child's information safe – Add a PIN to protect the app. Even if your smartphone is lost or stolen, your child's information stays protected.

If your packaging or screen prompts you to download the GizmoHub app, ignore those instructions. Verizon now manages all Gizmo Watch setups through the Verizon Family app.

Use this chart to understand Gizmo watch role permissions:

*Gizmo to Gizmo messaging only, which is supported on GizmoWatch, GizmoWatch 2, Gizmo Watch 3, Gizmo Watch3 - Adventure, Gizmo Watch 4 and GizmoWatch Disney Edition.
**Video calling is available on the Gizmo Watch 3, GizmoWatch Disney Edition and Gizmo Watch 4. For the best experience, update your smartphone to the latest Android or iOS software.

How many contacts your Gizmo watch can have depends on the model:

• Gizmo Watch 3 and Gizmo Watch3 - Adventure can have up to 20 contacts, including the Primary Guardian.
• Earlier Gizmo watches allow up to 10 contacts, including the Primary Guardian.
• You can invite Gizmo Buddies, Caregivers and Guardians.

Each pairing invitation you send counts toward your total number of approved contacts. Invitations stay pending in your queue until they're accepted or declined by the person you invited.

No, you can't program 911 as one of the numbers for the Gizmo watch to call. Gizmo watches aren't compatible with 911 or similar emergency telephone number systems.

The Unlimited data plan for a Gizmo watch is $10 per month (plus taxes and fees) with no commitment. You can cancel anytime.

Gizmo Group Chat allows group messaging between Guardians, Caregivers and Gizmo Buddies:

• A Guardian creates a chat group in the GizmoHub app:
  • Gizmos must be either a GizmoWatch 2, Gizmo Watch 3, Gizmo Watch3 - Adventure or Gizmo Watch 4. (GizmoWatch Disney Edition does not support Group Chat.)
  • All Buddies in a chat group must be on the same GizmoHub app account.
  • Guardians can add or delete group members or delete a group entirely.
  • Group Chat supports a maximum of 20 contacts per group, which requires at least 3 participants, including a compatible Gizmo watch.

Gizmo Ask & Learn uses Generative AI to answer questions about Math, Science, and History. You must enable the feature in the GizmoHub:

1. Tap Gizmo settings.
2. Slide Gizmo Ask & Learn to On.

You can request your child’s interactions with the Gizmo Ask & Learn for up to 60 days in the GizmoHub:

1. Tap Gizmo Settings.
2. Tap Request Interaction Data.
3. Tap Request Copy.

You’ll get an email with a password when the data is ready.

Keep in mind: The Gizmo Ask & Learn feature uses Generative AI. The response may not always be correct, so we recommend you double-check the answer given to your child when using this feature. Here’s a resource you can use to chat with your kids about how AI works: GenAI for kids

To delete or reset your Gizmo watch from the GizmoHub app:

1. Make sure your Gizmo is charged and turned on.
2. From the GizmoHub app, tap More.
3. Tap Manage Devices.
4. Tap Child Gizmo Device.
5. Under Device Settings, choose Delete Gizmo.

Keep in mind: This resets the Gizmo watch and lets you add it back to a child's profile.

To care for your Gizmo watch:

• Keep your watch and the charging contacts clean and dry.
• Clean and dry your watch and wrist regularly. Wipe off sweat immediately after exercise.
• Don't scrape the charging contacts with anything metal. Damaged plating may corrode over time.

Most Gizmo Watches are splash and water resistant, but submerging isn't recommended. To maintain Gizmo watch performance, see user guide for water resistance information.
